Professional Development Programme
All lawyers take part in our Professional Development Programme, which lasts six years. The programme includes training courses on specific legal topics and subjects such as business management, English language, negotiation skills, legal ethics, public speaking and entrepreneurship.
We see rotation between practice groups as a central aspect of career development for most lawyers at our firm. It enables them to broaden their legal expertise and expand their network within and outside the firm.
The firm offers its lawyers secondment opportunities. Working in-house for a client company enables our lawyers to gain valuable insights into the client’s day-to-day operations and an understanding of its business. You will learn about their challenges while honing your own legal skills.
The start of your career is an important time. On their first day our new employees are introduced to their practice groups. They are quickly put to work on current projects with client contact. They receive support and guidance throughout in the form of tutoring and mentoring.
We work continuously across borders between offices and countries, which means you will be working in a global context. Many of our clients are based overseas and much of our work is in English. Our international presence allows us to offer you the opportunity to work abroad for a time – either at our own offices in Belgium, China, Russia and the US, or at any of our associated offices or another company.
